Journals by Rank

The Journals By Rank page enables you to see the relationships for journals in a selected subject category and specific indicators relating to each title displayed within a customizable table. Choose to filter your results by Publisher, Country/Region, or Open Access journals.

Dynamic reporting tools are included on the Journals by Rank page. If you've signed in with a username and password, you can create custom reports, allowing you the flexibility to save reports based on journal selections and applied filters. You can access these reports at any time, and you have the option to continue to add journals to a preexisting list, or create a new list to fulfill a new set of requirements. You can add journals to a list or create a new list at any time by clicking Add Journals to New or Existing List, found above the ranked list. Check out more information on creating a journal list.

You can also choose those journals you'd like to use in either a trend or quartile comparison by checking any titles and then clicking Compare Selected Journals. Once you do you'll be directed to the Compare Journals page and can select the comparison type as well as the indicators you'd like to use.

You may also select from a list of available indicators to add to the results table by clicking Customize Indicators. With the June 2015 update, three new indicators were introduced in JCR:

  • Normalized Eigenfactor
  • % Articles in Cited Items
  • Average Journal Impact Factor Percentile
